I find myself making a lot more mistakes with it than my work computer, which is an older model. The keyboard action is wonderful but it's much harder to touch-type on than older MBP and MBAs because the keys are very close to each other so it's hard to tell which one you're on. It's an absolutely beautiful object in terms of the build and display quality, but I have some serious gripes about the keyboard and Touch Bar in particular: I have a 2016 13' MBP with Touch Bar and I have grown to dislike it. Please don’t make me leave you like this. I am very disappointed at how Apple play innocent at this issue, because if anyone google “MacBook Pro 2016 popping sound” they can find hundreds of threads discussing about this issue and how can the genius at Genius Bar not know about this?ĭear Apple, I am a loyal customer who is with Apple since the introduction of iPod one, and I spent all my budget for phone and computers on Apple only since I became a fan of Apple. However, they told me they still couldn’t reproduce the issue so they can’t do anything to help me. They ran a diagnostic on the machine, and tell me everything is fine, and I insisted that they take the machine to a quiet environment and test it for 5 minutes, they should be able to hear the popping sound easily. So I took my MacBook Pro to Apple store and try to reproduce the sound at the Genius Bar but the environment was too noisy to hear the popping sounds. I know it doesn’t affect the performance of the machine but I think paying more than 2000 bucks I deserve one that does not scare me at night. It is very annoying especially at the night when everything is so quiet and suddenly comes the popping sound. Purchased last February and I noticed there were popping sound coming from the screen since the first month. I have a 2016 13’ MacBook Pro with touch bar. Anyone remember the old black plastic MacBooks from about 10 years ago? Have since bought two other refurbished items from Apple and would not buy new again (if possible)Įdit: Space grey here, but I'd just about kill for a mat black one! Something that, when shut, resembled one of the monoliths from 2001. Speaking of which - even though it's refurbished it was like new. Have taken out extra insurance for it, because I'm on the road a lot and I know it I lose it or anything happens to it I can't afford to replace it Even though i saved about $600 (Aussie dollars) buying refurbished, it still stings.

Also have a USB-C to Display Port cable to drive my 4k monitor, but that's it I like being able to plug in from either side and I'm used to carrying a USB-A adapter with me. I thought I'd miss MagSafe and hate dongle life, but I haven't. It's only a bit larger than my old 13' and about the same weight I like that it's super quiet, and even with the fan going strong still significantly quieter than the 13' (which is not a loud machine) Would prefer buttons and have remapped Escape to CapsLock I use it for volume/mute and that's about it. Not had a problem with the larger trackpad I also seem to make more errors with this keyboard, not sure why, perhaps the lack of spacing between keys Makes it so difficult to use and I'm constantly (still!) getting them wrong.

I like the feel of the keyboard and haven't had any issues with keys not working, but I dislike intensely that they've made the left/right arrows full height. Bought it refurbished and love it even though it's not prefect
